Getting the new Ikea catalog every year is like a belated birthday present. It is, by far, my favorite catalog every year and it’s one of the few catalogs I receive that I can flip through multiple times and still enjoy.
With my new position at school being a little extra crazy (more on that at a later date), I’ve only had the time to sit and flip through the catalog once but I wanted to share a few things that I am loving from the 2018 catalog.
Ikea has quite a few ottomans in the catalog this year and the majority of them pull double duty (a classic Ikea furniture trait) for storage. It’s almost making me want to trade out the LACK coffee table that we’ve had for a couple years and get one of these instead.
There are two specifically that caught my attention. The first one is the VIMLE ottoman
I love how cushiony it looks and that it has a pretty big storage compartment inside of it. It comes in several different colors and is only $150 which is really not bad considering the storage and the size.
The second is the EKTORP ottoman, which is a bit smaller and not as pillowy at the top, so it would be better in smaller areas. It’s about the same price as the first one at $149 and I think either would work really well in almost any home.
I really REALLY wish we had a spot in the apartment for this FABRIKOR glass cabinet. It’s not typically something I would go for, but it’s really pretty and I love the gray color (it also comes in blue). I would love this in an office to display pretty things and for storage, but….mayhaps when we buy a house in a couple of years; that can happen. The great part about Ikea is that it’ll likely still be just as affordable at $169 in a couple of years when I’m ready to purchase it.
I have always been a fan of the HEMNES furniture line and I love this 8-drawer dresser. It looks like it has tons of storage and a classic design so it would last for years and go with pretty much any decor/style.
I think the next time I go to Ikea, I’m going to look for these DRAGAN bamboo boxes for the bathroom. I love the different sizes — the big one would great for skincare products and the smaller two would be great for organizing my makeup.
These RISATORP wire food baskets are just adorable and would be perfect for all those produce items we keep outside of the fridge.
Lastly, one of the things I love about Ikea are the simple staple pieces that every home needs; like bakeware, that will never break the bank. I could have a dozen of these smaller FOLJSAM oven dishes and at only $2.99, I can afford to have a dozen of them.
What intrigued you from the Ikea catalog this year?
