*I forgot how quickly weekends go during the school year.  I can’t believe it’s already Sunday afternoon.  I feel like life is playing a joke on me and I should have one more day.

*A couple years ago Devon and I did a month of scary movies for Halloween/October and it was AWESOME.  We both have a great appreciation for scary movies, so this was a lot of fun.  We did like a week of Hitchcock in there, “Saw” movies, Edward Scissorhands, “It” (and yes, we’re seeing the new one next weekend), all the “Halloween” ones, etc. Basically half of them are comically horrifying and some are gruesomely horrifying and some are just creepy.  It’s so good, though.  I have no idea what we are watching or when yet since movie selection is Devon’s domain.  I’m the one in charge of setting “the mood”.  I turn all the light off, light a couple candles (typically a couple nice fall scents to add to the mood), make popcorn, and go to town.  The best moment from the last time was we were in a really creepy moment (And I can’t remember which movie we were watching, it might have been one of the Halloween ones) and my cat just starts loudly meowing in the other room.  Freaked the hell out of both of us.  It was hilarious…ya know…afterwards.

*You know those songs you can just listen to on repeat like 1,000 times before you’re tired of them?  I’m currently doing that with “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Sixpence None The Richer.  I know it’s essentially like the third level of remakes of this song, but I love this version of it.  It’s very early 2000’s, which might also be why I’m all over it right now. I’ve regressed hard back to what I listened to a lot in high school mostly because current music is just annoying.

*I know I was complaining about weekends being so short, but I also think I’m getting back into the groove of an actual routine for school, which is really nice.  Part of it has been getting used to my 45 minute commute, which really isn’t that bad, it can just be a little tiresome in the afternoon when I’m already getting worn out.  But, Devon and I also wake up a little earlier this year (partially because of my commute and because his work hours at school shifted from starting at 7:30 to 7:15 this year and he likes to go in early), so the days feel a little longer.  Having Devon actually fully back at work, I think helps me, too.  He was off for my first two weeks back, so the “routine” wasn’t so fixed.  Now, we’re essentially on the same schedule, so it’s helping.

*I’m trying to be really good at weekend routines this year, too (hopefully it lasts).  I try to do a load of laundry on Saturdays and meal prep and tidy up on Sundays to keep things from getting super out of control, which was my problem last year.  Hopefully, I can maintain that for awhile.

On that note, I’m going to go make sure I have lunches ready for this week.

Have a great rest of the weekend!
