I was talking to a good friend of mine a few months ago where I said that I wanted to make a goal of going on a trip with my husband for our wedding anniversary every year.  I don’t know why it just seemed like a really good idea at the time and it seemed like something we would both be down to do.

Our first anniversary is about four months away and I still think it’s a good idea.

I just don’t know where to go.

Also, can we talk about how it’s already our first anniversary?  I mean, yes, it’s still four months away, but it feels like we were just counting down a year to our wedding and here we are almost to our first anniversary.  Time is a funny thing.

If you remember, our honeymoon was a pretty epic adventure through England, Wales, and Scotland.

I don’t feel like we need to be that epic again.  I mean we don’t need to go on a 2-week long holiday like we did last year, but it might be nice to get away somewhere fun for a few days.

We are typically people who don’t enjoy extreme heat, so most southern things aren’t super interesting to us.  Although I was looking through old pictures earlier and came across photos from my trips to Honolulu and Orlando a few years ago and enjoyed how pretty it all was in those warmer climates.

But I genuinely don’t know where I want to go.  I ask Devon and he’s like…”You know me, you tell me where we’re going and I pack accordingly”.  Which is annoyingly true.  Plus, the only one place he genuinely wants to go to is more of a family trip when we have kids (Williamsburg, Va…he’s OBSESSED with taking our kids there at some point in life).

While it’s nice that he won’t argue with me about where we go; GIVE ME A DIRECTION!

Anyway…

Part of me kind of wants to go back to Iceland.  We were there for literally like 4 hours during a layover for London and I kind of want to explore it more, but at the same time…I don’t know that I want to go that far.

So, tell me, what are some vacations you’ve taken that have been memorable for you? I’m open to ideas within the country and outside of it; I’ve explored both but can’t seem to settle on anything. I’m not against traveling far, but I’m not against staying close to home either.

Do you see where my dilemma is?
