A new season is upon us which means it’s time to unbox my latest FabFitFun delivery. If you’ve been around here for a minute, you know I’m obsessed with this box; in all the subscription boxes/services I get or have gotten in the past, this one tops all of them — hands down.
The amount of, full size, products you get in this box is incredible and the quality of those products is unbeatable by any other subscription box out there, in my opinion.
In addition to amazing products, each season’s box is partnered with a charitable organization, so part of your purchase price of the box is donated to that organization to help bring a positive change in the world. This season’s partner is City of Hope which is dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and other deadly illnesses as well as helping patients during and after treatment. Cancer is one of those illnesses that has touched so many people (including my family) so I’m glad to see them in this box.
If you’re interested in finding out how you can get a FabFitFun box for yourself, there will be a link and a coupon code at the end of this post!
Now, for the goodies!
Amika Strand Perfect Ceramic Styler $80
I never go in any specific order when I list out what I get in each box, so I just randomly started with my favorite find in the box and I’m not mad about it.
I have tried a bunch of products from Amika (most recently their deep conditioner, which I am in love with) and love everything, so to see a hair tool from them makes me so happy. I’ve owned a really good straightener for a few years now and it works well, but one thing that it doesn’t have that bugs me is a way to control the heat, and if you have fine hair like I do, you need to control the amount of heat you put on it. This Amika styler…HAS A HEAT CONTROL KNOB! :praise: So I can turn it down super low and not completely scorch my hair, so my hairdresser will stop yelling at me. It has an on/off switch (so if you’re like me and have forgotten to unplug your iron before, you can switch to the off button when you’re finished using it) and a swivel cord so you won’t get tangled in it. As soon as I got it yesterday, I switched my old iron out for this one and I can’t wait to actually style my hair with it.
Kut From The Kloth Slim Striped Wallet $60
I was also really excited to see this as I’ve been on the hunt for a medium sized wallet. I had a Coach wallet for years that was enormous and just…unnecessary. Last spring, I decided to go fully minimalist and got one of those super tiny zip around wallets (think one that fits in the palm of your hand), which is great, but a little too small for me. So, this guy should be a perfect middle ground. It has a good amount of card slots but not so many random slots and pockets that I’ll overstuff it with things that don’t need to be carried around with me. Hopefully….
Cosmedix Pure C Powder $54
I recently started adding a Vitamin C serum to my skincare routine because I noticed my skin was a bit dull, which could be because I’m over 30…been stressed out…who knows. But Vitamin C is one of those things that genuinely just can’t do anything but help your skin look and feel better. While I’m enjoying the serum I’m already using, this looks like it could be interesting to try as well. You just shake a little of the powder into your hand and mix into either a serum or your moisturizer before you go to bed. This will be fun to try!
Afterspa Hair Towel Wrap $18
I always let my hair dry in a towel for like 20-30 minutes before I blow dry so that I don’t have to use as much heat on it. By the time I get to blow drying, my hair is usually at least 60% dry and it takes me, maybe 10 minutes, max to finish drying it with the blow dryer. However, I use large bath sheets (because towels feel too small for me) so having them on my head for that amount of time can sometimes make my neck hurt because there’s a lot of weight on my head from that towel. So, having a small hair towel sounds magical. I’ve seen these kinds of towels for years but it’s just been one of those things that I’m like…”why spend money on that when I have towels?” I’m okay with it being sent to me though! I only wash my hair twice a week these days, so I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but I will report back once I do!
Skin&Co Roma Truffle Therapy Face Toner $30
I just recently added toner back into my skincare routine, I don’t why I took it out but if you’re like me and have oily, acne-prone skin…you need toner. Toner helps balance your skin’s pH, it helps to close pores, remove any extra dirt/makeup that your cleanser may miss…it’s just necessary. I have my ride or die toner that I used for years and have come back to, but this one intrigues me. It has black winter truffles, witch hazel, and sage in it to help remove impurities and brighten your skin and it just smells so good. The sage makes it smell like winter to me, so I might have to switch to this one for a bit and see if I like it better than my forever favorite.
Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair $30
Hah! Damaged hair repair….come to mama…..Seriously, though, if you do anything to your hair other than wash it and let it air dry….your hair is likely experiencing some level of damage to it and could likely use an extra layer of protection. I mentioned a few months ago that I started using a heat protectant at the suggestion of my hair dresser and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my hair since. It’s easier to manage and look healthier. This looks really similar to the one I use, so I’m excited to try this one. It has quinoa protein macadamia oil and soy in it and it claims to protect your hair from heat, up to 450 degrees, so a great product if you’re a heat-styler!
Harper + Ari Exfoliating Sugar Cubes in Juice Cleanse $16
I’ve tried body exfoliants in these cube forms before and I don’t know maybe I’m just clumsy but they never seem to work well for me and most of it just winds up in the bottom of the shower instead of on my body where it’s supposed to go. Again, maybe I’m just a klutz, I don’t know. They do smell good but my likelihood of using them is pretty minimal, so I think I’ll throw these into a gift basket for Christmas.
Human + Kind Body Souffle $18
Is there such a thing as too much lotion? Especially if you have a husband who, in winter, will rub your elbow and be like….”getting a little rough there!” It’s okay, I don’t know why I married him either. But I’m all about keeping lotion around the house because if it’s in more than one place I’m more likely to use it. This lotion has apricot oil and shea butter in it and just feels so silky. I brought this down to the basement so if I’m watching TV or something I can rub it on those elbows/hands/etc when they need it.
That is what was in my box this season. Overall, it’s full of products I want to use or try out and even though I won’t use the exfoliating cubes, those would make a cute addition to a gift basket (which is typically what I do with the occasional product I won’t use in these boxes so they don’t go to waste).
Each FabFitFun seasonal box costs $49.99 (or you can get a years subscription for $179.99), which sounds like a lot for a subscription box but that’s why I put the retail prices of these products because I want you to be able to see the value you’re getting for the price of this subscription. My box this season was worth $306; just the wallet alone was more than the cost of this box. This will never be the cheapest subscription box you get, but you’re getting a box of full-size and high quality products for what you’re paying, which is very worth the price, in my opinion.
If you want to sign up and are a new subscriber, you can get $10 off your first box by signing up through this link. So your first box will be $39.99 and you’ll get a box to try out. If you don’t like it, just cancel it before the next season and you won’t be charged.
What would you be most excited to try out in this box?
