FabFitFun Summer 2020 Unboxing!

It does not feel like summer just started. Not even a little bit.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hot as all hell in Maryland which indicates that it is in fact summer here but after being home for three months I feel like we already did summer. In fact when I went into work a few weeks ago to do our “end of the year close out” I actually said to our front office secretaries; “it feels like it’s the first day back to school and we’re supposed to be here getting ready for the kids to come back tomorrow”.

Basically 2020 is the year that never ends. Despite how much we all want it to be over as quickly as humanly possible.

But I digress.

It is however one of my favorite times of the year because I just got this season’s FabFitFun Box.

I know…ya’ll know my love for this almost unnatural. I’ve gotten this box for several years now and it’s really the only subscription box I’ve actually stuck with. Any other box I’ve tried I usually love the first few boxes and then eventually either get bored with it or no longer like what I’m getting, which makes me feel like the cost isn’t worth it and I cancel it.

I have yet to get a FabFitFun box that I haven’t felt justified the cost. And this box is no different. There are a couple of items that came in this box I could easily see me gifting to someone else (which is pretty par for the course, but I’m never mad about having a few gifts on hand) but I am also really excited for some of the other items.

Pottery Barn Mason Ceramic Diffuser in Solstice $59

Pottery Barn Mason Ceramic Diffuser in Solstice

I am very picky when it comes to scents and Devon is allergic to some scents, so home fragrances can be hard. This one, while I love diffusers and the idea of them, the scent of this was a bit much for us. It’s also just not quite our decor style. I actually think I might gift this to my mother-in-law because this is very much her style. She has a lot of brass/gold accents in her house, so she might really like this.

Michael Kors Bedford Travel Passport Wallet $78

Michael Kors Bedford Travel Passport Wallet

Oh remember the days when we could travel around the world whenever we wanted to? This gives me wanderlust which kind of bums me out, but I do really like this though. It’s a beautiful passport cover and has a lot of room inside for cards, boarding passes, etc. This will also make it easier for Devon and I to differentiate between our passports. Right now we both have the same covers, so we really have to look to see who has the right passport; this will alleviate that.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream $65

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream

This makes me SUPER excited. I started having some issues with eczema on my face this past winter (which I think might be hormonal) and I was reading that goat milk is is actually an amazing moisturizer for eczema because it has anti-inflammatory properties and encourages deep hydration which you’re lacking if you have eczema. My skin has been pretty normal with summer being here, so I think I’m going to hold this until fall when it gets cold and when my skin is more likely to flare.

Terre Mere Aloe and Tea Tree Toner $54

Terre Mere Aloe and Tea Tree Toner

Is this not the prettiest bottle of toner you’ve ever seen? I’ve never heard of this brand before so I did a little internet sleuthing to see that they are a full skincare and makeup brand based out of California and all of their products are cruelty-free and vegan. This toner has tea tree oil and aloe in it and it helps to clear your skin and get rid of dead skin. I actually starting using this yesterday because I love toners; my skin loves toner. Obviously in a day I don’t know how much it’s doing, but it feels really good. And as large as this bottle is I definitely see this lasting awhile.

The Lyfestyle Co Beach Mist $42

The Lyfestyle Co Beach Mist

This is the other item that I’m not super into. This is a spray that you use to hydrate your skin after you’ve spent time in the sun….and we know I don’t really DO the sun….so…..I don’t really have a need for this so much. It seems like a great product for those who don’t have an aversion to the outside, though. It has aloe, mint and lavender essential oils to help hydrate and cool the skin.

Riddle Oil Original Roll On $50

Riddle Oil Original Roll On

This is also something I’ve never seen before (which is part of why I love these boxes because I always get things I’ve never seen/heard of before). This is a roll-on oil that mixes with your body chemistry to create your own signature scent. Mine was weird, when I tried it, it kinda reminded me of that Happy scent that Clinique had back in the day (or they may still have, I haven’t bought it in years). It was nice. I should make Devon try it just for my amusement.

Cali Cosmetics Foot Cream with Menthol in Tarocco $24

Cali Cosmetics Foot Cream with Menthol in Tarocco

Give me ALL the foot cream! My feet can be so dry no matter what time of the year it is. This cream has menthol and olive oil to help heal and hydrate feet and I actually really like the orange scent that this has. I’m not usually into citrusy scents, but this is light, which makes it easy for me to use.

MakeupDrop Hybrid Makeup Applicator $20

MakeupDrop Hybrid Makeup Applicator

When I first saw this in the box, I just assumed it was a regular blender sponge but then I turned it over and saw this silicone part and was intrigued. This is designed so that you apply your makeup with this silicone part and use the sponge to buff/blend as you need to. The thought is that using this silicone side you will reduce the amount of makeup waste/amount absorbed into the sponge instead of your face. I mean…it sounds pretty amazing….and I look forward to giving this a try when I actually put makeup on again.

Overall, I’m really excited for what is in here; there are a couple of things I could live without (which usually happens) but the majority of what is here I am looking forward to trying out. I’m already using the Terre Mere face toner and I plan on trying out the makeup applicator the next time I actually put makeup on (whenever that is).

If you’ve seen me do posts about my FabFitFun box, you’re used to seeing me add prices to the items, but if you’re new; I do that so you can see the value of products you get in the box. This subscription box is one of the more expensive boxes that you can buy, but the value in it always far exceeds what you pay for it.

Each seasonal FabFitFun box costs $49.99, which does sound like a lot, I know. But, you can do an annual plan with is $179/annually, which saves you $20. You can also use this link to get $10 off your first box, so you can try it out for $39.99 to see if you like it before going all in.

This season, my box was worth $396. I spent $49.99 on almost $400 worth of items. Even with the two items I don’t have a use for; those are items I can easily gift to someone else. Like I said I have gotten this box for years; it is the only subscription box I have stuck with for this long because the quality is that good. You will not be disappointed.
