I swear with every summer edition of my FabFitFun subscription it’s like they know I’m going on vacation and just fill the box with things I need to take with me. This box had a couple of great products that are specifically made for traveling and a couple of beauty/skincare products that are great to try when you’re on a trip, especially if you’re out in the sun and exposing your skin to the elements more than you normally would.
As always, first off I’m always so amazed by the packaging of FabFitFun’s boxes. Not only is the box itself always so pretty and colorful, but just that first moment that you open the box and see everything packaged so beautifully, it just makes it more exciting to get in there and rip everything open.
Would you not be excited to see what else is in this if you saw this as soon as you ripped open the paper? I think you would.
Let’s check out what else is in this box:
Invisibobble Original Duo Pack Hair Ties
I’M SO HAPPY TO HAVE MORE INVISIBOBBLES! I have gotten in the habit of putting my hair up in a high pony tail, on top of my head, before I go to sleep at night and these are the only hair ties I use for that. They’re comfortable on my head while I’m sleeping, plus they don’t leave those weird dents in your hair like traditional hair ties do. If you have fine or “special” hair like I do (read: hair loss issues), they don’t rip your hair out and really gentle which is basically the only selling point I need in my life.
Odeme What A Pair Set of 2 Silicone Wine Glasses
As you all know, Devon and I just went on a wine-tasting filled vacation so these were awesome. I went ahead and threw these in my suitcase on the off chance that we needed them (for some reason). We didn’t actually need them, but they were just cool to try out. They actually helped the wine keep a chill on it (since we almost always drink wine cold) and were easy to hold. I also like that they have their own travel bag because you just never know when you might need to bring wine glasses with you to a gathering. It’s just convenient.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Luminizer Primer
I’m kind of in the middle of trying out new primers right now, so I was really excited to add this to my current stash because I do love the Pores No More line by Dr. Brandt. It’s great at blurring out pores, especially if you’re someone like me and have pretty large pores on your cheeks. This primer isn’t the typical clear primer that a lot of us are used to, it almost looks like it has a tint to it:
But it doesn’t add any color or tint to your face when you apply it. I actually brought this with me on our trip to give it a try and see how I like it. I admit I’m not usually someone who wears things to “luminize” my face because I’m naturally oily so I “shine” without help. But the pore blurring possibility drew me in and I have to say this didn’t make me look shiny or oily, it just gave me a subtle glow which was actually pretty nice. It did also keep my makeup in place while we were outside in 90 degree weather for several hours, so this was a definite win for me!
Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask
This is the product Devon saw and went “why? Masks are for faces!” But he’s a guy, so…he’s being a guy. I, however, don’t know of anyone that couldn’t use something to help exfoliate your feet, especially since it’s summer and everyone is wearing sandals and flip-flops everywhere. This is one of those products that would be great to slather on, put on a pair of socks and go to bed so that it can really sink in and make your feet super soft.
Generation Clay Ultra Violet Brightening Purple Clay Mask
Look! It’s a mask…for your face! Sorry, I had to. But this is a purple mask to help brighten and hydrate your face. You know how you use purple shampoos for blondes to help take out some of the brassiness and make your blonde-color brighter; that’s kind of what I’m thinking of when it comes to this mask. The purple is there is help pull out the dullness in your skin and make it look bright and hydrated for summer.
Grace & Stella Spray All Day Rose Hydrating Facial Spray
Like I said before, I’m an oily human, so hydrating sprays aren’t typically in my wheelhouse. I respect setting sprays for makeup and whatnot and some of them are fine for me, but basically any spray that is said to be hydrating I don’t need in my life. I will say, though, this smells so good. I wish I could use it just to smell the roses in it, but alas I’m going to hand this off to a friend of mine who has dry skin with my blessings.
Sutra Professional Mini Travel Blow Dryer
I saw this and praised everything because while I know pretty much every hotel has a hair dryer in the room, I usually hate them and they don’t work well and feel like they fry my hair to a crisp. I’ve taken my full size blow dryer with me before since I don’t own a travel-size one, but now that I do, my full size happily stayed home for our trip last week. This dryer is amazing. It has two speeds as well as the two attachments you see pictured. It dried my hair super fast (on the slower speed) and didn’t feel like my hair was fried by the end of it. This was perfect and on point for my summer traveling.
Coola Makeup Setting Spray
I know I just said above I’m not super into face sprays and I’m not into hydrating ones; setting sprays though I can get down with as long as they aren’t meant to be hydrating. Because of us being outside a lot for our vacation and knowing that, despite claims, most SPF in makeup and moisturizers isn’t enough for being out in the sun, I brought this with us for the extra SPF factor. I did about 4 sprays over my entire face after my makeup was on, and before we went out, and it didn’t make me oily or shiny like some sprays do and while I can’t sit here and say it repelled all signs of sun damage, I can say we were outside a lot and I didn’t get any sunburn on my face. So, this is a win for me for the summer time and I plan on using it often.
West Elm Indigo Tie-Dye Bowls
FabFitFun doesn’t usually have a ton of home decor pieces in it, so these are a very fun and beautiful surprise in this box. These bowls are perfect snack size bowls, would be great for dips, or even just for decoration. Since we are planning on moving soon (again more on that is coming) I’m just leaving these in their box and will take them out and work more with them once we are in our new home.
I think at this point, we know I love this subscription box, it is by far my favorite subscription ever. It is one of the more expensive boxes at $49.99 per box, but there are only four boxes per year (once each season) and each box is always guaranteed to be worth at least $250; my box this month was over $300 and definitely worth the subscription box price.
If you want to give the box a try, you can get $10 off your first box by signing up through this link. If you enjoy trying new products that are seasonally appropriate this is all for you. Even when I get a product that I can’t personally use I usually know of someone I can gift it to that will love it more than me.
If you do decide to give the box a try, let me know how much you love it!
