Face Moisturizer for Oily Skin

So, I spent so much time getting Avengers tickets yesterday that literally, everything else took a backseat in my life.  It was bad. Though, it wouldn’t have been so bad had the theater’s website not crashed at like 9am and continued to be down for most of the rest of the day.

But, I digress.

I am actually seeking your opinions/suggestions on a facial moisturizer.  While I’m using one and have been using one for a while, I feel like it’s time to change stuff up and usually, you guys are really good at recommendations.

Thanks to my genes, I have pretty oily skin.  Like my face could easily be an oil slick by lunch if I didn’t try to tame it down.

It’s bad.

And annoying.

I’m aware that there are a lot of benefits in terms of again when you have oily skin, but it’s also still pretty damn annoying when you’re trying to not “glisten” all day.

And when you’re an oily human, it’s glistening….you don’t glow.

Despite what some people like to believe, oily people still need to moisturize.  If your skin doesn’t have moisture, it can actually secrete more oil and make your oilness worse.  It sounds super conflicting, I know, but I can definitely tell a difference when I don’t use a moisturizer at all.

Currently, I’m using an old stand-by of Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

I love this for the colder months because it’s a little richer like I need in the winter, but now that we’re into warmer months, it’s too heavy for what I need.

I’ve also used Murad’s Oil-Control Mattifier, but am not currently.

This is a rather good light moisturizer, but after a while it just didn’t really do it for me anymore.  Like, have you ever used one product for so long that it feels like your face has just grown accustomed to it and it just doesn’t like it anymore?  That’s kind of what happened with this.  So, great product, I just needed to go in a different direction.

Honestly, outside of these two, I don’t think I’ve used another daytime facial moisturizer in….a decade?

So, I’m open to suggestions.  If you’re someone who has oily skin and found a holy grail that keeps your skin soft/moisturized but doesn’t make you oily, I’m open to trying new things.

Please leave suggestions down below and I’ll do a follow-up blog post with the suggestions and with what I try out!
