Microglo Microdermabrasion System

In talking about skincare recently and trying to find a new moisturizer that works for oily skin, I’ve also started working improving my skin’s tone and texture by using this at-home Microdermabrasion tool from Microglo.

As I’ve mentioned, I have oily, acne-prone skin.  While I know I will enjoy the benefits of it later on in life as I have fewer lines and wrinkles, but for now…it’s just incredibly frustrating.  I feel like no matter what I do or what products I use, my face always feels rather rough or uneven and it just always looks kind of dull and lifeless.

I’ve heard about microdermabrasion for a while, but I’m always hesitant about salon/spa treatments because I hear so many horror stories about procedures going wrong, or people performing the services not following safety standards or not knowing what they’re doing.

Basically, it makes me nervous.  And I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that may make my skin worse.

When I was given the opportunity to try out this at-home microdermabrasion kit from Microglo, I jumped at it.  Admittedly, I was still a bit nervous because…it’s my face, but at the same time, something about me being in control of what would be done made it a little better for me.

I love that this is a simple machine that anyone can use in the privacy of their own home without a lot of training or worry that you could harm your skin.  Microglo is so determined to help that they even created a How-To video to show you how to use this machine properly, and really even without the video, it’s so easy.

The Microglo device comes with five different suction heads that allow you to choose the head that best fits your skin needs.  If you have sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin, coarse skin, etc, there’s an attachment for that.  There is even an attachment if you want to use this on the rest of your body.

The device also has a low, medium, and high-speed button that you can also customize depending on your skin needs.

The best part?  Each treatment takes five minutes.  Once you have selected the appropriate attachment, you just quickly move the device over the entire surface of your skin.  You will feel a bit of suction as the device is ridding your skin of impurities and dead skin, but it’s rather comfortable.  From the suction, you may also see some redness for a few hours after, but it goes away easily.

I have only used this device twice at this point and I’ve used the smallest/finest attachment for sensitive skin to start out.  My skin can be sensitive so I didn’t want to harm it too much with just beginning.  It is recommended to do 8-12 treatments to see full results, but I can tell you after only two treatments, my skin already is starting to feel smoother.  My skin has been red for a while after, so it’s been good to do this on a weekend when I don’t need to wear makeup afterward, but I’m enjoying the results I’m seeing.

I will report back in a couple of months with my full results but like I said I’m really enjoying this at this point.

If you are looking for a system like this to have at home, this entire kit is available for $159.  I know it sounds like a lot, but think about how much you would spend for 8-12 microdermabrasion services at a spa; it would be so much more than you’re paying for this set and you can use it for years.
